Etsy Diving
/It’s been a while for a Rare Article. It’s not even Thursday! With that aside, I thought I would bring you some interesting custom Pokémon items for sale. Now we were proud to announce our Poli-Shirts last week. Those shirts are limited to 100 made, and they will begin to ship next week. Exciting.
Anyways, today we look at Pokémon stuff found on Etsy. Etsy is where handmade and vintage stuff lives so others can enjoy and purchase these items. Let’s take a look at a couple of the cool stuff found on Etsy.
Pokémon Polar Fleece Hoodie
This item looks to be sold out, but if you had $107, you too could have bought this custom Pikachu Fleece. From the bright yellow, to the actually tail...
PKMN of the Week: Poliwhirl
/In honor to celebrate our new Poli-Shirt, what better to do so by having this week dedicated to one of the Pokémon that inspired everything! Poliwhirl has always been a popular picking when Pokémon came over to the America's in 1998. Now his swirl is back on our exclusive shirt, and back on the site to kick off our Monday.
It evolves from Poliwag at level 25, and then into either Poliwrath when exposed to a Water Stone or Politoed when traded holding a King's Rock.
Poliwag undergoes a dramatic change when it evolves to Poliwhirl. The most notable difference is that it has become bigger and gained arms with gloved hands while losing its tail. The eyes have moved to the top of its head and it apparently loses its visible mouth. Its nostrils are now visible. Curiously, the swirl on its abdomen as Poliwag reverses when it evolves. The skin on most of Poliwhirl’s body is moist, due to an oily fluid. However, the skin on its belly spiral feels smooth.
• The logo for the Pokémon Center in Tokyo featured Poliwhirl until it was replaced by Piplup in July 2007.
• Poliwhirl is based on a tadpole. The spiral pattern on its belly is supposed to represent how the organs of tadpoles can sometimes be seen through their transparent skin. Its evolution is based on a tadpole's metamorphosis.
Pardon Our Dust
/Hey Everyone!
I guess some new features of the site went early today. If you haven't noticed our new Pokéball side bar, which follows you down the page. If you get an urge to click that Twitter Ball, it will always be by your side.
I just wanted to say that this has been one tough month to keep content going, but we thank you all for supporting the site and visiting us daily, weekly, or some of you... hourly.
Episode 020 will be going live this week, hopefully your all caught up because we even have plans for 021 to follow pretty shortly after.
I also want to thank everyone that still sends in for Featured Team, don't worry, yours will be posted in the order we get them in at, please don't hesitate to send your Team in if you haven't.
Also, I just got the first official shirt in, and I think we will announce and show tonight at midnight... I mean... if you guys want? Let me know in the comments!
FINALLY, the last thing I want to mention is that the site will be down tonight at around 1AM and most of the morning tomorrow for some changes. Good changes. I apologize that the Video Podcast got pushed back a week or two, but I had to prioritize since this week had some unexpected Bulbasaurs.
With that being said... please stay tuned for more AWESOME to come!
