Rare Article: PokéRuminations: Take 1

This Rare Article will be taking a note from Ability of the Week's "Rapid Fire" articles, as I am not going to give you one long talk about a single subject, but three FUN SIZED talks. Without further ado, here is my first (last?) shot at what I'm dubbing "PokéRuminations."

Chapter 1: Pokémon in the Theater, Or: Pokémon: The Movie Black: Victini and the Legend of Curly's Gold 2: Electric Boogaloo.

So Pokémon is back on the big screen. I love movies, as many of you know, so you probably expect that I went to see the newest Pokéflick. Walp, you are wrong. The chief reason for this is that the movie came out in approximately negative 2 theaters. This has caused a lot of confusion among Pokémon fans, because not only was the movie released extremely sparsely, but it was also poorly advertised.

HOWEVER! I do not think, contrary to popular opinion, that this was a bad move on the part of the Pokémon Company. It's obvious that they do not anticipate that this will be a hit. The reason it is being released is to gauge interest. Test the waters, so to speak. They want to make sure there is at least a moderate amount of interest in a Pokémon movie before they go Pokéballs deep with a huge marketing campaign and a broad distribution. Here is my prediction: The next movie will either be released as TV only or will be a major theatrical release. They will not do another mini release like this once they have the data they want.

Chapter 2: Herman Cain Quotes Pokémon, Or: One Thing is for Sure, His Campaign Definitely Blasting Off Again

Ex-Republican candidate for the 2012 presidential election Herman Cain just pulled himself out of the race. In his concession speech, he quoted from Pokemon: The Movie 200 - The Power of One's end credits song. "Life can be a challenge. Life can seem impossible, and it's never easy when there's so much on the line." This is amazing. A presidential candidate just quoted Pokémon. For the second time.

Yup, this isn't the first time Ol' Hermy spouted out that same tidbit of wisdom from the Pokémon world. The first time was earlier in his campaign, but he attributed the quote to "a poet." That poet just happened to be Donna Summer, in the song she performed for Pokemon: The Movie 2000.

Chapter 3: Pokémon Profile Pic December, Or: Why Not? (Wynaut?)

Facebook has begun its unofficial annual "Pokémon Profile Pic December" once again. The idea is to change your pic to a Pokémon for the month of December. Here is my suggestion: We should all make our profile pictures newer Pokes. That way we can spark conversation about the Pokémon games and possibly get some new Pokémon fans to join the party!

Okay. I'm done. Sidebar: It's been a while since I've given you a technical-heavy rare article, with number crunching, etc. One should be coming soon. I promise I'll step away from Skyrim for a few minutes to do some damage calculations.
