MOTW: Swift

It’s been a while. I know. Thus is life and the holidays/tests/school in general. No excuses so let’s get into it. Normal type moves are interesting types to choose from. Their resistances are unlike any other and there are an interesting set of moves to choose from. One move has been around for quite some time is Swift. Swift is almost unique in the fact that it can hit an opponent in almost any situation, and we’re going to take a look at that in our MOTW today.

Accuracy. One thing that is pretty much a necessity in the field of battle. Almost all important move combinations and strategies...

MOTW: Sludge Bomb

Now here’s a type that I think gets WAY overlooked in Pokemon. Not necessarily by trainers, but by Nintendo as a company. Even including Gen V Pokemans, there are still only 15 pure poison types, and only a couple dozen more that have half types. Poison type moves are some of the most useful in the entire game. Maybe not the most effective up front, but they definitely do their part on a team. Today we’re talking about the best one out there, Sludge Bomb.

MOTW: Dream Eater

Do you still have lingering thoughts of Halloween? Or what about decorations of skulls, and evil looking pumpkins? Do get spooked easily and have nightmares for days? Well then you might not want to read this article. In the wake of Halloween we’re going to be talking about Dream Eater...

If you have any intuition at all you can tell what Dream Eater does without even looking up its definition. It pretty much does exactly what it says it does. When your opponent is asleep, and only when they’re asleep, you can deal damage with Dream Eater and ‘eat their dreams’. Now, what on earth does that mean? Apparently dreams taste pretty good to some Pokemon and even restore HP. Whatever damage you...

MOTW: Last Resort

As we’re celebrating the ‘month of the Eevee’ we only thought it would be fitting if the move of the week this week was Eevee based. This is a move that any Eevee trainer should consider, as all Eeveelutions can learn it. It’s also kind of a quirky move and it’s  only been around for one generation now. Let’s look at the last move in our arsenal...

Last Resort, as I said has only been around since Gen IV from the 493. It has 130 power now, but once Gen V comes along that will be changing to 140 power and keeping it’s 100% accuracy. To get right down to the nitty-gritty, this is how it works. So, as it...

M(s)OTW: Light Screen & Reflect

The best offense is a good defense. I mentioned that in last weeks move, Wood Hammer, but now I’m really going to hammer home that point (get it? hammer? yea I didn’t laugh either...) in this edition of Pokemon Move O’de le Week.

Something that a lot of trainers overlook in there teams is how they might counteract an opposing team. I know at least when I started out I went all out with 4 super powerful moves on each Pokemon of my team. A specific example that comes to mind was my original Blastoise. If I remember correctly I think it had Hydro Pump (my move of choice), then Surf, Blizzard, and Hydro Beam. To a 10 year old that’s a totally epic...

MOTW: Wood Hammer

Hehe... Wood Hammer... Get it? Sorry, I had to.

So this week we're a little bit short on articles, BUT, your favorite co-host is still here pumping them out, just for you guys! So let's get into it. This week were talking about another move that's not widely able to be used, first because it's not a TM, and second, only 5 pokemans can learn it by leveling up, Exeggutor, Sudowoodo, Torterra, Snover, and Abomasnow. No one else, that's it. So again, why would I talk about a move that's so rarely used?...

MOTW: Teeter Dance

Hey ya’ll! It’s that time of the week again! You guessed it (probably by the title of the article), it’s time for move of the week. This week we’re going to briefly touch on the more rare and unique move Teeter Dance.

Now you may have never heard of this move before, and for good reason. Teeter Dance can only be taught/learned by 5 different Pokemon in Gen IV, Spinda, by leveling up, and then taught by breeding to Oddish, Mr. Mime, Cacnea, and Mime Jr. (kind of a repeat, but those are the facts.

MOTW: Brick Break

So last week the move that we covered was earthquake. A fairly common move, and is used in large numbers throughout teams, and has been around for all 4 gens so far. A good example of this was episode 13 where the featured team that we covered had it in their team 4 times. A little overkill if you ask me, but, could be used well if implemented with the correct strategy. This week we’re talking fighting moves, and namely one more popular and useful one, Brick Break.

Now, fighting type moves seem to me, at least, to be a very good choice to put on your team. Many opposing Pokemon you’ll come up against will generally have a normal multiplier

MOTW (Move of the Week): Earthquake

Considered one of the most powerful moves in the video game, Earthquake has become one of the most widely used moves across the field of battle. You honestly can’t go wrong with choosing it to add to your team. Who doesn’t want a move that has 100 power and 100% accuracy? Well, I’m going to try and break down the do’s and dont’s of this super powerful move.
